As a Marine Auxiliary Engineer​ you will:

A week in the life of a Marine Auxiliary Engineer​:

  • Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as auxiliary systems, HVAC&R, piping systems.
  • Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
  • Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews. Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration.
  • Conduct marine engineering analysis.
  • Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
  • Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems.
  • Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
  • Prepare technical reports for internal use.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or High School diploma and 6 years of additional relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

EXPERIENCE

  • Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics)
  • Working with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Auto-CAD
  • Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
