Position Overview

KGI is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to work on a federal project alongside a growing team of engineers. This person will provide technical consultation and offer solutions to complex IT/cloud challenges. A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Amazon Web Services with proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions. They will demonstrate and apply technical and functional expertise in AWS to analyze, optimize, and modernize existing cloud architectures for our federal client.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation and offer solutions to complex IT/cloud challenges
• Design and guide implementation of cloud Enterprise IT architectures
• Ensure consistency through technical design, engineering, and sustainment efforts
• Review existing infrastructures and recommend improvements to provide optimizations and additional benefits to our large federal client
• Design and develop cloud solution architectures and manage the transformation of current infrastructure and applications as they are replaced by cloud solutions
• Communicate with project manager(s) to interpret customer requirements.
• Code and unit test application software

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer-related discipline
• AWS Solutions Architect certification
• 8+ years' experience implementing, supporting, and developing in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
• Experience with containers in Cloud deployments, such as Docker, Elastic Container Service (EC2), and Kubernetes
• Direct experience and expertise performing Cloud Platform Management and Support
• Experience with the cloud migration process
• Experience architecting, implementing, and managing complex networks in a cloud environment
• Experience providing consulting and functional support to full lifecycle of a federal cloud implementation
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology
• JIRA/Confluence
• Additional cloud certifications
• CISSP

Clearance Requirements

U.S. citizenship required - must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
