DHA Overview
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and a ready medical force to Combatant Commands during peacetime and wartime. Established to enhance the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services, the DHA supports Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and drives the integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS. The agency plays a pivotal role in ensuring military personnel and their families receive comprehensive healthcare, thus maintaining operational readiness and overall force health protection.
Position Overview
Pantheon is seeking a Senior Project Manager who will report directly to the Senior Program Manager of a major DHA Innovation Program. This role involves managing specific project components and coordinating with workstream leads and deputy project managers to ensure the successful implementation of technology and innovation initiatives. The Senior Project Manager will have a background guiding and maintaining government IT/software projects. They should have impeccable attention to detail and extensive knowledge of government deliverables, budgets, customer expectation management, and project schedules. A successful candidate will also be able to communicate clearly, politely, and effectively with government clients.
Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Senior Program Manager and support the overall execution of the main task order.
- Manage specific project components, ensuring alignment with overall program goals and objectives.
- Oversee workstream leads and deputy project managers, providing guidance, support, and direction.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and monitor project activities to ensure timely completion of tasks and milestones.
- Conduct regular status meetings with workstream leads and deputy project managers to track progress and address issues.
- Support the Government through management and prioritization of day-to-day tasks.
- Provide team leadership for contractor employees assigned to work on specific tasks.
- Collaborate with Customer Relationship Managers to interface with clients, interpret/translate requirements, and set expectations.
- Participate in formal activities, project management reviews and informal meetings.
- Ensure cost-saving factors and quality controls are used to perform assigned projects.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues and Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Prepare and present project status reports, updates, and recommendations to the Senior Program Manager and other stakeholders.
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop detailed plans to monitor and track progress of assigned projects and prepare documents to include, but not limited to, briefings, point papers, trip reports and meeting minutes related to the status of the project.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
- Demonstrate ability to work with senior decision makers.
- Foster a collaborative and productive working environment within the project team.
- Promote a continuous improvement and innovation within the project team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in project management, with a focus on technology integration and innovation, and/or acquisition.
- Proven experience managing large, complex projects and teams.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems and technology.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
- Familiarity with the DoD, Military Health System (MHS) and the DHA is highly desired.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with technology innovation and implementation in healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and FDA guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and advancements.
- Understanding of advanced technologies and innovative solutions.
- Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with AI/ML a plus.
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure knowledge or certification(s) a plus.
- Active DoD CAC or Active DoD Clearance.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $95,000-125,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
